Adjunct Employment Opportunities
The Department of History at Boise State University invites applications for part-time adjunct instructors to teach classes during the day, evenings and weekends, at each of the university’s several campus sites in southwestern Idaho. Adjunct faculty will have the opportunity to teach lower-division, introductory courses in European, U.S. and Eastern Civilizations, depending on specialty. Upper-division specialty courses may also come available, but not regularly.
Qualified applicants must have at least a master’s degree in history or a related field. Teaching experience, especially at the post-secondary level, is highly desirable.
Successful applicants will be placed into a pool of qualified instructors. Semester course assignments will depend upon department needs and will be designated on a term-by-term basis. No adjunct may teach more than 21 credits (7 classes) in any given academic year and no more than 12 credits in any semester. Course assignments are not guaranteed and performance will be evaluated each semester.
