
Lisa McClain
Associate Professor of Gender Studies
Dr. Lisa McClain arrived at Boise State in 2001. She earned her PhD in History in 2000 from the University of Texas-Austin where she also served as a Lecturer in History. Her fields of specialty include religion during the Renaissance/Reformation era and gender and popular culture in early modern Europe. She is the author of the book Lest We Be Damned: Practical Innovation and Lived Experience among Catholics in Protestant England 1559-1642 (Routledge, 2004), as well as several articles in journals such as the Sixteenth Century Journal and the Journal of Religious History. McClain began serving as Director of the Gender Studies Program in 2002.
Lisa was elected the Director of the Gender Studies program beginning Fall 2002. Her energy and diverse background make her an excellent choice.
