Quick Start
Just the basics here. What you should know
- Bookmark the Classroom page. You'll be returning there often.
- Set up your blog.
- Read the Syllabus. Carefully. You as the student have responsibility for knowing what is required for this course.
- The course is divided into three sections, each covering five weeks. Go to the Ancient section and start to work!
What should I read first?
Each section has essays written by me, essays written by others, and a collection of primary sources. You can read these in any order.
The sooner you read, the more you will have to say in discussion. Ideally, every student would start each section having read everything. Well, I know I wouldn't have done that as a student, but the basic principle still stands: the sooner you read, the more you will have to say in discussion.
I recommend you read the essays first, then the primary sources.
Ask!
If you are unsure about any aspect of taking this course, ask. You can ask me directly via e-mail, but I encourage you to ask on my blog. That way, others can benefit from the answer.
